In line with the idea of the client and their family, we designed a luxurious family retreat with kitchen, spa, tasting room, and billiard room, and integrated it into the existing basement.
The complete construction of the new spa facility was only possible thanks to the underground car park below. The technical challenges were solved one after the other by the planning team and the idea of the interflowing interiors was further developed and implemented.
Access to the new common rooms is via an entrance hall with an en suite bathroom, and leads to an open dining room with fireplace, billiard table and seating area with a view of the newly designed garden. The path leads further into the mountain where the spa area with adjacent fitness room awaits. Below ground, additional space has been added for the naturally ventilated wine cellar with an accompanying tasting room. A particularly special and creative touch is the ski room which is built into the shelter. It is directly accessible from the underground car park.
In the years since, we have built two spacious holiday apartments on the floor above, which are available for family and friends. The textile arrangement is thus given greater importance and also serves to allow for flexible room allocations in the living area.
«The design of the apartments follows the design principles of the communal area situated below and reinterprets them in a welcoming and relaxing way.»
– Christoph Cavigelli
The consistently implemented, refined design is well visible from all angles, and is the result of the creative brilliance behind this project – meticulously thought out, down to the last detail.
It filled us with pride and joy to see the client family so satisfied with the outcome. We received awards at the "International Design Awards 2013" and the International Design Excellence Awards 2014 of the "Society of British and International Design (SBID)."

Finding well-being in the mountains. The recreation area, rich in light, with its own fireplace in the centre creates a warm and cozy atmosphere through the use of natural materials.
A spa experience for body and soul. The rosewood marble in its differing surface structure runs through the entire spa area and gives the room its natural elegance.
Good grapes. The newly built and naturally ventilated wine cellar is enough to make any winemaker’s heart beat a tick faster.
Custom design. Design for private and ventilated cabinet doors in the ski room.
Elegance and luxury. The lighting and the furnishings are as high quality as they are elegant, and merge into the newly designed garden with a view of the Grisons Rhine Valley.
